Your first visit includes a conversation about your health history, symptoms, and treatment goals, followed by a gentle, hands-on osteopathic assessment and treatment. You will remain fully clothed, so please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move easily.
Because your body may continue responding in the days following your appointment, changes may be felt immediately or develop gradually. To allow the treatment time to unfold, we recommend avoiding exercise, massage therapy, and chiropractic treatment for 3 days afterward.
Every person responds differently, so the number and frequency of appointments will depend on your symptoms, health history, and progress. Most people begin with a follow-up within one to two weeks and may benefit from three to five initial treatments. Appointments can then be spaced further apart as symptoms improve. Together, we will regularly reassess your progress and recommend a plan that feels appropriate for you.
We are a self-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of service. Upon request, we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage is not guaranteed, so we recommend contacting your insurer before your visit to confirm your benefits and determine whether a referral from your primary care provider is required.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please text us as early as possible at (763) 230-6869. Your cancellation will be recorded according to the time your message is sent, so you do not need to wait for a reply. Please do not respond to appointment-reminder messages, as replies to those messages are not monitored.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may be subject to a fee equal to 50% of the appointment cost. We understand that emergencies and unexpected circumstances occur, and exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make a late cancellation.
Osteopathic treatment is a whole-body, hands-on approach that considers how the body’s structure, movement, and different systems influence one another. It may involve a variety of techniques selected according to the patient’s health history, assessment, and individual needs.
Craniosacral therapy is a more specific gentle-touch approach that focuses primarily on the head, spine, sacrum, and surrounding tissues. Some of its techniques may resemble those used in osteopathic treatment, but the practitioner’s education, clinical training, and professional scope can differ considerably.
At our clinic, treatment is provided within each practitioner’s professional training and scope of practice and is tailored to the individual.
Both osteopathic treatment and chiropractic care use hands-on techniques to support movement and function, and there can be some overlap between them.
Chiropractic care commonly focuses on the musculoskeletal system—particularly the spine—and often includes joint mobilization or adjustment. Chiropractors may also use soft-tissue techniques, exercise, and other forms of care.
Osteopathic treatment takes a whole-body approach, considering how muscles, joints, connective tissues, circulation, and other body systems relate to one another. It draws from a broad range of techniques, which may be direct or very gentle, depending on the individual.
The experience can vary considerably with either approach because every practitioner has different training and methods. At our clinic, treatment is gentle, individualized, and guided by your health history and assessment.
